Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of RMBDESK's website and services. By creating an account or sending a payment through RMBDESK, you agree to them.

📋 This is a structural placeholder covering the sections a payments platform typically needs. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer and must not be published or relied upon until it is — especially the sections on licensing, liability, and dispute resolution, which are jurisdiction-specific.

1 Accounts & Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a legally binding contract to use RMBDESK. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account.

You agree to provide accurate, current information when creating an account and to keep it updated, particularly your contact details and any information relevant to identity verification.

2 Identity Verification (KYC)

RMBDESK is required by applicable anti-money-laundering regulations to verify the identity of its customers before processing payments.

You agree to provide the documents and information requested and understand that:

3 Sending Money

When you create a payment, RMBDESK provides a quote showing the exchange rate, fee, and amount your supplier will receive. Once you confirm a payment, that quote is locked for a limited time.

If you do not complete payment within the stated window, the payment is cancelled and no funds are collected.

⚠ You are responsible for entering correct supplier and payment details. RMBDESK is not able to reverse a payment sent to an incorrect account or ID once it has settled.

RMBDESK may hold, delay, or decline a payment where required for compliance screening, fraud prevention, or regulatory reasons, and will notify you where practicable.

4 Fees & Exchange Rates

RMBDESK charges a fee on each payment, shown before you confirm. Exchange rates include a margin over the wholesale market rate; this margin is how RMBDESK is compensated in addition to the stated fee.

Current fees and rates are published on the Rates page and may change at any time.

The rate and fee shown at the time you confirm a payment is the rate that applies to that payment.

5 Prohibited Use

You may not use RMBDESK to send funds that are proceeds of crime, to finance terrorism, to evade sanctions, or for any purpose prohibited by the laws of Uganda or the destination jurisdiction.

RMBDESK may report suspicious activity to relevant authorities as required by law.

6 Limitation of Liability

A lawyer needs to draft this section specifically for your operating jurisdiction and licensing arrangement — it typically covers exclusion of indirect/consequential damages, a liability cap, and force majeure, but the exact wording carries real legal weight and cannot be templated safely.

7 Refunds & Failed Payments

If a payment cannot be completed after funds have been received, RMBDESK will refund the amount collected, less any fees already incurred with third-party payment providers, within a reasonable time.

Refund decisions and timelines are recorded internally against your payment reference.

8 Suspension & Termination

RMBDESK may suspend or close your account where required by law, where we reasonably suspect fraud or a breach of these Terms, or where our banking or payment partners require it.

You may close your account at any time by contacting support once all pending payments have completed.

9 Changes to These Terms

RMBDESK may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified via email or an in-app notice before they take effect.

Continued use of RMBDESK after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
